Google Pixel 5, 4a 5G listings hint at storage and color choices

  • Store listings indicate the Pixel 5 and 4a 5G will have 128GB of storage.
  • They should also come in black and white.
  • Pricing for the Pixel 5 isn’t clear.

You don’t have to wait for Google’s September 30 event to get an inkling of the storage and color options for the Pixel 5 and 4a 5G. Droid Life reports that UK telecom BT and retailer More Computers (two, three) are listing both devices, offering possible configuration clues.

Both the Pixel 5 and 4a 5G appear to have at least 128GB storage options as well as black and white colors. You might not have to settle for the single shade of the existing Pixel 4a. There are no other storage mentions, though, suggesting this will be as good as it gets — you might have to lean on streaming and cloud storage if 128GB isn’t enough.

The retailers also mention pricing, although it’s not certain how well this reflects the official pricing. The £499 price BT quotes for the Pixel 4a 5G lines up with the $499 Google mentioned with its teaser (British prices usually include tax), but the £615 More Computers cites for the Pixel 5 doesn’t necessarily hint at a price at $599 or above.  It’s listing a higher price than BT, and it’s not certain if either store is using official info or just making an educated guess.

It wouldn’t be shocking if the listings are at least close to what you’ll get. Google and leakers have made it clear that the new Pixels will be more budget-oriented models rather than the flagship-class hardware like the Pixel 4. They aren’t expected to compete with Apple or Samsung phones on raw performance, features, or exotic color choices, but they might offer value for money at the very moment many are looking for more affordable devices.
