Here are all the exciting new streaming trailers from this week

Another Friday has rolled in and with it some new movie trailers and TV teasers for titles headed to popular streaming platforms.

This week’s trailer roundup has us eagerly waiting for the last two months of the year. Why? Because Emma Corrin looks absolutely stunning as Princess Diana in the new trailer for season 4 of The Crown, Disney’s animated wonder Soul is skipping theaters and coming directly to Disney Plus, and Oscar-winning director Ron Howard has a new movie on the horizon based on a New York Times bestseller.

The Crown (season 4)

It’s our first look at Princess Diana in Netflix’s ongoing drama based on the most popular royal family in the world. The Crown returns for a fourth installment on November 15. Its latest trailer is all about Diana’s entry into the British royal family after her marriage to Prince Charles.

“Here is the stuff of which fairytales are made,” the trailer assures. Meanwhile, the Queen, played by Olivia Colman, finds herself at odds with Britain’s first female Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson).


Soul

Disney put out a new movie trailer for its upcoming Pixar title Soul this week. The film will skip theaters and release directly on Disney Plus in time for Christmas. The new trailer gives us a good sense of what to expect from this Pete Docter (Toy Story) film starring Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, and June Squibb. Firefly Lane

Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke star as childhood best friends in this new trailer for Netflix’ Firefly Lane. The upcoming series is based on a New York Times bestselling book by the same name. It tells the story of two women who meet as young girls and form a powerful bond despite their different backgrounds. They go on to support each other through thick and thin for decades until events in their lives tear them apart.


Hillbilly Elegy

From Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard comes this new Netflix original that also happens to be based on a New York Times best-selling memoir. The new movie trailer shows Glen Close and Amy Adams as a mother-daughter duo belonging to a working-class Appalachian family. The story is told from the perspective of Adams’ onscreen son Gabriel Basso: an ex-marine and Yale student on the verge of getting his dream job. He is forced to return home after a family crisis and amend his relationship with his drug-addicted mother.


I Am Your Woman

This upcoming Amazon Prime Video movie tells the story of a woman who is forced to go on the run with her baby after her husband betrays his criminal partners. Alongside the new movie trailer, Amazon has also revealed the full cast of the film, including Rachel Brosnahan, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Arinzé Kene, Frankie Faison, and Bill Heck.

 


Sylvie’s Love

Tessa Thompson and Nnamdi Asomugha play star-crossed lovers in this new movie trailer. Sylvie’s Love is set in 1950s New York. There, Robert (Asomugha), a saxophonist, meets Sylvie (Thompson), an aspiring TV producer. The duo quickly falls in love but after a summer of passion, their lives take different directions, until they meet again years after.


His Dark Materials (season 2)

HBO has released the new trailer for season 2 of His Dark Materials. For those who haven’t seen the show yet, it’s a fantasy drama set in a multi-world reality, starring Dafne Keen, James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The new season lands on HBO Max on November 16 so there’s plenty of time for you to catch up. In the meantime, check out the trailer for season 2 below.
