The Xiaomi Mi 10T series is now official. Unlike the Mi 9T lineup from last year that consisted of rehashed Redmi phones, the new Mi 10T phones are more premium and in line with existing Mi 10 devices. All three of them bring 5G connectivity and premium hardware, albeit at more affordable prices than Xiaomi’s current Mi 10 flagships.
That said, the phones do make some compromises to achieve that lower price point. They also bring some nifty new features to the table that you won’t find on the Mi 10 phones. Here’s everything you need to know about the Xiaomi Mi 10T series.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10T, and Mi 10T Lite: At a glance
The new high-end flagship series from Xiaomi consists of the Mi 10T Lite, the standard Mi 10T, and the Mi 10T Pro. As expected, the Lite model is the most affordable while the Pro model nets the highest configuration amongst the three. Overall, the trio is designed to offer premium flagship specs at prices that don’t burn a hole in your pocket.
The Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip and the Mi 10T Lite slots in as the first phone with the Snapdragon 750G SoC. All of them offer high refresh rate screens (up to 144Hz), large batteries, and the latest MIUI 12 software. Read on for a detailed specs overview.

Xiaomi Mi 10T series: Features
Design and display
In terms of design, the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro are twins. They are also more or less identical in terms of their specs. The Mi 10T Lite, however, switches things up a bit. For starters, it shares a lot of similarities with the Poco X3 with the circular camera housing and center punch hole. It also sports a plastic frame over the aluminum alloy chassis of its siblings.
Both the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro tack on 6.67-inch FHD+ displays with a punch hole on the top left corner. The screen refresh rate on both phones is set at 144Hz. It’s automatically adjusted according to the content being displayed in order to optimize battery life. For instance, the phones could set the refresh rate at 60Hz for video streaming and crank it up to 144Hz for gaming. The Mi 10T Lite also features the same display, but with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Unlike the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10 Ultra, the T series doesn’t get the OLED treatment. Instead, it makes do with IPS LCD panels.
If you’re looking for an in-display fingerprint sensor on these new phones, you will be disappointed. The feature didn’t carry over from the Mi 10 series and the Mi 10T devices make do with physical fingerprint sensors. They also feature face unlock as an added security measure.
Performance
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 865 does all the work on the Mi 10T and the Mi 10T Pro with support for 5G connectivity and 8K video recording out of the box. The chipset is paired with UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM.
The Mi 10 Lite is equipped with the Snapdragon 750G — Qualcomm's latest attempt at lowering the entry barrier for 5G.
The base RAM on the Mi 10T Pro is 8GB, paired with 128GB and 256GB internal storage options. The vanilla Mi 10T gives you an option to start with 6GB RAM going up to 8GB. However, it only offers 128GB of storage.
The Mi 10 Lite is equipped with the Snapdragon 750G which is Qualcomm’s latest attempt at lowering the entry barrier for 5G. The SoC stacks just under the Snapdragon 765 series which powers phones like the OnePlus Nord, Redmi K30, LG Wing, and others.
Cameras
One of the biggest draws of the Mi 10T Pro is its 108MP triple camera setup. The large sensor uses pixel-binning to deliver shots comparable to a 27MP 1.6-micron pixel camera. Xiaomi says you can also snap 33MP photos while recording 8K videos on the phone. Other sensors in the Mi 10T Pro’s rear camera array include a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, the phone uses a 20MP camera.
The Mi 10T simply substitutes the 108MP sensor for a 64MP primary camera that results in 16MP pixel-binned shots. The rest of its camera configuration remains the same as the Pro model.
Some of the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro’s camera skills include six long exposure modes to capture light trails, moving crowds, and more. You also get new video modes like the Video Clones mode (Photo Colones for stills) that captures “two selves” in one video and Dual Video mode that can record from the phones’ front and back cameras simultaneously.

The Mi 10T Lite gets a set of four rear cameras — a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP shooter for clicking selfies.
You won’t get a telephoto sensor on any of the Mi 10T series phones, so if you want optical or digital zoom capabilities in a Xiaomi flagship, your options are limited to the pricier Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Ultra.
Battery
None of the Mi 10T series phones borrow 120W charging from their predecessor. However, they amp up battery capacity up to 5,000mAh which is the highest compared to any Mi 10 phone on the market.
Xiaomi Mi 10T series price and availability
The Mi 10T series will be made available in Europe starting with the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro on October 1. Availability for the Mi 10T Lite will start on October 13. The United Kingdom will see all three phones at different release dates (see below).
Xiaomi also said it will launch it in all the other countries that it operates in, which should include India and other countries.
Europe
In European countries, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro will start at €599 (~$702) for the 128GB storage variant and €649 (~$760) for the 256GB model.
Meanwhile, the Mi 10T with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at €449 (~$526). It costs €549 (~$643) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
The Mi 10T Lite is the cheapest of the lot and starts at €279 (~$327) for the 6GB/64GB model and €329 (~$385) for the 6GB/128GB model.
United Kingdom
In the UK, the Mi 10T Pro will set you back £599 (~$777) for the 8GB/256GB configuration (there won’t be a 128GB option). There will be two color choices: Cosmic Black and Aurora Blue. Pre-orders start October 30 and general sales begin on November 6.
For the vanilla Mi 10T, there will also be only one configuration: 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will cost £469 (~$609) starting on November 2. The two color choices on hand for this model will be Cosmic Black and Lunar Silver.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite will be available in an unlocked state on October 26. There will be early bird pricing on the device from 0:00 to 23:59 BST that day. If you jump in early, the 6GB/64GB configuration will cost you just £199 (~258), and the 6GB/128GB will cost £249 (~$323). Prices go up to £229 (~$297) and £299 (~$388) respectively if you buy starting October 27. There will be three colorways: Atlantic Blue, Pearl Gray, and Rose Gold Beach.
India
A known tipster claims that the Indian variant of the Mi 10T Pro could upgrade to a 6,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 865 Plus in contrast to its global counterpart. Xiaomi has yet to make any formal announcements on India availability, though.
Xiaomi Mi 10T series competition and alternatives
If you look at the competition, the Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro are much cheaper than premium flagship phones from the likes of Samsung and even Xiaomi’s own Mi 10 series. They aim to target buyers who can’t afford to pay $1,000 to purchase a smartphone with top-shelf specs.
Mi 10T and 10T Pro alternatives
The Realme X50 Pro is a decent alternative to the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro. It’s currently selling for €579 (~$675) which is almost the same as the base Mi 10T Pro. The Realme flagship also features the Snapdragon 865 chip but offers an OLED screen with an under-display fingerprint scanner. Its refresh rate is capped at 90Hz, but that should be enough for a smooth scrolling experience or even for mobile games. You also get six cameras on this thing, including two for clicking selfies.

Another good alternative for the Snapdragon 865 toting Mi 10T phones could be an Asus Zenfone 7 series device. The phones come with Asus’ signature flippy cameras, a 90Hz OLED display, a triple camera setup led by a 64MP sensor with OIS, and a choice of upgrading to the Snapdragon 865 Plus chip (with the ZenFone 7 Pro). The only thing is, you’ll have to pay up a bit more to get a Zenfone 7 or Zenfone 7 Pro. The series starts at €699 (~$816) and goes up to €799 (~$932).
If you’re looking for something as cheap as the Mi 10T, you could also consider the Poco F2 Pro. It brings the Snapdragon 865 at €369 (~$430) and marries it with a large 4,700mAh battery and a 64MP quad-camera setup. It even features a headphone jack that is missing from the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro. However, it lacks a high refresh rate screen.
Mi 10T Lite alternatives
When it comes to alternatives for the Mi 10T Lite, there is no other phone that carries the Snapdragon 750G chip yet. The device is also very competitively priced under €300 (~$350) and there aren’t many alternatives that offer 5G at such a low entry point. That said, if you’re willing to shell out some more dough, there are some pretty good phones you can buy.
You could consider getting the OnePlus Nord instead of the Mi 10T Lite. The phone costs €399 (~$466) and packs a Snapdragon 765G chip, 90Hz display, four rear cameras, and two front cameras. You also get the Oxygen OS experience that some people may prefer over MIUI.
Then there’s also the Mi 10 Lite in the ecosystem. The Snapdragon 765G phone is currently available at an attractive price of €299 (~$349) and packs an under-screen fingerprint sensor as well as four rear cameras headed by a 48MP sensor.

Q. Does the Xiaomi Mi 10T series support headphone jacks?
A: Only the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite gets a 3.5mm headphone jack in the series. The Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro don’t sport the audio port and you’ll have to make do with USB-C.
