Disney Plus Android TV

  • Disney Plus is getting a price increase in the US starting in March 2021.
  • The monthly price of the streaming service is going up from $6.99 to $7.99.
  • The price will also be going up in Europe, from €7.99 to €8.99 a month.

Disney Plus subscribers have enjoyed one of the biggest bargains in the streaming industry for the past year, but soon they will see a small price jump. During Disney’s investor’s day, the company announced that in the US, there will be a Disney Plus price increase, from the current $6.99 a month to $7.99 a month.

The good news? That price increase won’t go into effect until March 26, 2021. On that date, the price of the service’s yearly subscription price will also go up to $79.99 a year, and the bundle of Disney Plus, Hulu (with ads), and ESPN Plus will be going up a dollar as well, to $13.99 a month. The monthly price in continental Europe will also be going up, from €7.99 to €8.99 a month.

That means users still have plenty of time to lock in their Disney Plus annual price at the current $69.99 rate before the price hike goes into effect. You can do so at the link below:

By all accounts, Disney Plus has been a highly successful venture for the company since it launched in November 2019. During today’s investor day, the company said that as of December 2, it had signed up 86.8 million subscribers worldwide. The company is now predicting that Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus will have a worldwide combined total of between 300 million and 350 million subscribers by its 2024 fiscal year.

Disney also announced its new Star streaming brand, which will be added as part of Disney Plus in Canada, Europe and other parts of the world in February 2021. It will also launch as a stand alone app, Star Plus, in Latin America in June 2021.
