Palmer, Night Stalker, Shadow and Bone, and more TV trailers to watch this week

Holiday spirits were high in the streaming world this week as Roku and HBO Max left their differences behind. A certain “Wonder Woman” is believed to have brokered the peace. Google and Apple have also joined forces. As a result, Apple TV Plus will soon be available on the new Chromecast with Google TV.

Meanwhile, it’s Friday so we’re here with new movie trailers and TV teasers for content releasing on streaming services!  There’s some cool footage for you to catch up on so let’s get the show on the road.

Palmer

This week, Apple released a new movie trailer for Palmer, starring Justin Timberlake. The film is directed by Fisher Stevens (Stand Up Guys) and follows a former college football star named Eddie Palmer (Timberlake) who returns home to get his life back on track after serving time in prison. However, as the trailer shows, he soon finds himself taking care of a young boy whose mom takes off without warning.


Night Stalker: The Hunt For a Serial Killer

This upcoming Netflix documentary series charts the true story of one of the most notorious serial killers in American history — Richard Ramirez. The four-part series is told through first-person interviews, archival footage, and original photos leading up to the nocturnal monster’s capture.


Tribes of Europa

A tiny cube wreaks havoc in this new trailer for Tribes of Europa. The Netflix original series is set in the year 2074. In the wake of a global disaster, there’s major unrest between the different tribes of Europe. A battle is on for the future of the new continent.


Shadow and Bone

This is a super early look at an upcoming fantasy series from Netflix. Shadow and Bone will hit the platform in April 2021 and the announcement teaser promises a changed world.

Adapted from author Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha trilogy and the Six of Crows duology, Shadow and Bone will show a world divided in two by a massive barrier of darkness. Unnatural creatures rule these parts and in the midst of it all, a young soldier uncovers a power that might just unite the two halves.


Crack: Cocaine, Corruption & Conspiracy

This new Netflix documentary examines the devastating effects of crack cocaine on individuals, families, and entire communities. It traces the origin of the crack epidemic, its villains, and victims all the way back from the 80s until now. It also looks into the ongoing marginalization of black and brown people trapped by the US prison and healthcare systems.


Bridgerton

This new trailer for Netflix’s Bridgerton opens with the famous saying — “All is fair in love and war.” The upcoming period drama from Shondaland camps in Regency London’s high society. It promises a strong dose of romance and scandal as a debutant navigates both society’s expectations and her own emotions.
