One of the first decisions you have to make is which operating system you prefer. We’ve gathered Android and Amazon Fire deals, iPads, and a Windows option in the Surface Go. You can also check out our dedicated lists of Surface deals and iPad deals if you’ve ruled out Android as an option.
Featured deals: Save up to $500 on the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and its big brother, the Tab S7 Plus, are quite simply the A-list of Android tablets. Right now you can pick one up for as little as $149.99 ($500 off) directly from Samsung.
The obvious caveat in this deal is that only $100 of that huge $500 discount is instant savings. That’s not at all bad in itself, but to save up to $400 more you need to trade in your old device. On the plus side, the list of devices that you can trade is very varied, and it isn’t even limited to tablets. For the full $400 rebate you’d have to be upgrading from the Galaxy Tab S6, but tablets of multiple brands can be switched for savings of various amounts, plus old iPhones and Google Pixels too — even as far back as the original Pixel model.

There’s no question that these slates are appealing as far as the hardware is concerned. With excellent craftsmanship, the metal chassis and stunning displays are something to lust over. Performance is best-in-class, and battery life is absolutely stellar. The cameras leave a bit to be desired, but that’s par for the course on a tablet.
