  • Xiaomi’s Mi 11 series could debut earlier than usual, with tips ranging from December to January 2021.
  • The phone, believed to sport the Snapdragon 888, is also set to arrive with 55W charging support.

Update: December 8, 2020 (1:30 AM ET): A new listing on China’s 3C certification site has revealed the charging specs of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 series. As spotted by Digital Chat Station, the filing points to a charger capable of 11V at 5A for an output of 55W. That’s not as powerful as the Mi 10 Ultra’s 120W support, but it is an improvement over the Mi 10’s 30W speed and Mi 10 Pro’s 50W charging.

The listing doesn’t shed light on any other specs or the phone’s launch date, but a leak from Ice Universe earlier this month did suggest we could see the Snapdragon 888-powered phone debut before the end of 2020.

Original article: November 30, 2020 (01:03 AM ET): January is set to be a bumper month for launches. Already likely playing host to an early Samsung event and CES, Xiaomi is poised to debut its early 2021 flagship, too.

According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the tentatively-titled Xiaomi Mi 11 will debut in the first month of the year.

If the Mi 11 series does debut in January, it would be a month sooner than usual for the Chinese firm’s flagship line. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 9 series debuted in February 2020 and 2019, respectively.

Xiaomi wouldn’t be the first brand to expedite its launches in 2021, though. Samsung is rumored to launch its Galaxy S21 series much sooner than usual. The OnePlus 9 line is also reportedly set to debut a month earlier than usual, albeit in March.

As for specs, we can posit Xiaomi will once again reserve Qualcomm’s top-notch silicon for its flagship line. The Snapdragon 875 should make an appearance. If the Mi 10 series is any indication, we can also expect the Mi 11 to focus on camera performance, battery life, and quick refresh rate displays.
