  • Samsung is set to launch a new smartphone in its Galaxy F series.
  • The phone will reportedly be called the Galaxy F62.

Samsung is set to add another device to its Galaxy F series. According to 91Mobiles and tipster Ishan Agarwal, the phone will be called the Samsung Galaxy F62.

News of the Galaxy F62’s existence comes after the debut of the first F series phone – the Galaxy F41 – in October, and tips of the Galaxy F12‘s future launch.

Not much is known about the Galaxy F62 at this point. It bears the model number SM-E625F, and an F series phone, it will likely launch as an India-only device like the Galaxy F41. The phone will also possibly be another Flipkart exclusive, too.

The Samsung Galaxy F series was initially hyped as a camera-first phone series, but the line has arguably focused more on large battery capacities and screen sizes. The Galaxy F12, for instance, is believed to pack a 7,000mAh battery. The Galaxy F41 debuted with a 6,000mAh cell. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Galaxy F62 debut with a similarly sized battery.

Loosely based on the Galaxy M31s, the Galaxy F41 also featured a 6.4-inch AMOLED display, a 64MP triple rear camera, and 4G LTE support. Given the Galaxy F62’s higher number, and per Samsung’s naming convention, the F62 will likely be the firm’s high-end F series device going into 2021. In this case, expect it to pack beefier hardware and a higher price than its F41 sibling.

Per 91Mobile‘s report, the Galaxy F61 is only expected to debut in the first half of 2021. In the meantime, if you’re searching for a budget Samsung smartphone, be sure to browse our top picks below.
